The routine: 5:00 am out of bed and heading in the general direction of coffee. After pouring a slight over-spill, I walk straight to my laptop for the usual Internet session. This is done before anything else including walking my dogs. They don’t seem to mind because when I hop out of bed to fetch coffee they get the entire thing to themselves, and if they do mind, well, they’ve never said anything.
My day ends the same way it begins, with reading. At night it’s the novel of the month and in the morning, its whatever catches my attention on the internet. More times than not, this is where my writing inspiration comes from for that day. I will read something that sets off my writing radar. The result is not always a rant. Sometimes it’s informative, newsworthy or heartfelt ,but its effective nonetheless.
These are a few of the places I get my inspiration:
Global daily news comes to me through a plethora of sites. I have a bit of an addiction to global news and affairs, so I spend a lot of time surfing various sources. There are too many to list here, but I generally head off to the likes of MSN & Sympatico, BBC, CNN, Caribbean News and a few other local sources.
I could not live a day without a book in my hand (or a collection on the shelf), so glancing through book guides keeps me in the loop for the next possible read. I very much enjoy that someone’s job is to assemble a new list on a regular basis.
This website has a little bit of everything. It’s interesting, informative and weird. It’s a website where I invite you to get your own hot beverage and click away.
A great surfing site for visual stimulation. A little bit of fashion, a little bit of drama and a little bit of news all wrapped into one.
This is not a site I hit each day, but when I do, there’s much to learn and catch up on. I also marvel at the fact many people do this science stuff for a living…it’s so not my thing.
A great New York website full of stuff. Their headline today: It’s Have Sex With a Guy With a Mustache Day! Its not at all what you think, considering you were thinking the same thing I was when I saw it. This is an article aimed at raising awareness for prostate and testicular cancer.
Enjoy!!
